Morning: 8 or 8.30am (flexible time) after breakfast pick up from your hotel in Siem Reap and journey by A/C vehicle to the vast Angkor complex of temple ruins from the days of the Khmer Empire. Embark on a trip back in time as you marvel at the remains of the medieval city.
We first go to the brick and laterite stone charming temple of Pre Rup, one of the few remaining complete structures in the complex. Continue to the intricate, pink-colored temple of Banteay Srei known as a “precious gem”, or the “jewel of Khmer art”, thought by many to be the work of the women of the Khmer Empire. Marvel at the ornate carvings on the tiny temples.
Afternoon: Make your way to one of the nearby restaurants and try with the local dish at your own expense. Then, your driver will bring you to see the history and mysteries of the temple of Beng Mealea as your tour the magnificent grounds in the heart of the jungle.
After you have explored the complex you will see the Stone Quarry where the sandstone was cut from the mountain and explain how the blocks were transported to the site.
Back to Siem Reap drop some where in the city or at your hotel end of service
