Morning: We start with a pre-dawn departure (4.45 to 5.00am depending on the time of year) from your hotel for sunrise over Angkor Wat. Then explore the whole complex of the temple the originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire by King Suryavarman II during the 12th century, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the century; as such, it is also described as a “Hindu-Buddhist” temple. Then enjoy your breakfast at the local restaurants near the temple.
After breakfast, continue to see the main temples in small circuit, first stop at the South Gate of Angkor Thom City the famous entrance monument, and inside the city we can expl0re the smiling four faces and the State temple of Bayon then Baphuon, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of Leper King.
Afternoon: Make your way to one of the nearby restaurants and try with the local dish at your own expense, then continue to Ta Prohm: The temple is referred to as the “Tomb Raider Temple” or the “Angelina Jolie Temple” due to its depiction in the film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001). Perfect Tour. We were picked up on time and provided plenty of cold water. The tour took us to 6 different temples and we were picked up from/dropped off at our hotel. The tour guide, Boonset, is a local and really passionate about his job. He is very knowledgeable and made sure we would go to him with any question or curiosity. He is also very fun, told us a lot of curiosities about the history of Cambodia, and made funny jokes. Totally recommend!
